Chi-Square Tests & ANOVA Intro
Chi-square tests compare categorical distributions (goodness-of-fit or independence in two-way tables). ANOVA asks whether several group means differ more than chance.
Beyond one mean
Chi-square tests compare categorical distributions (goodness-of-fit or independence in two-way tables). ANOVA asks whether several group means differ more than chance.
- Expected counts should not be too small (rule of thumb: mostly ≥5).
- Significant ANOVA → follow up with pairwise comparisons (and correct for multiplicity).
